The Way Sam Sees It

Had the pleasure of spending time with Sam Hopkins and Emily at his art studio in the days right after we arrived. Sam was preparing an art installation for a show called “They Way I Like It,” which he modified to be “The Way I See It.” The plan is for the shape of Kenya in glass to balance on 42 balloons, the number of tribal groups living in Kenya.

What is the squish coefficient of balloons? How many will you need? This is precise work!

Installed! With a little help. The artist was out of the country by now, but his presence felt and appreciated (and delicately walked around!)
