50 States, 50 Photographers, 1 relative

March 9, 2009

A project called The 50 States Project gives one photographer from each state six different assignments over the course of the coming year. Each one interprets it in his or her own style.

My honey’s cousin, Stuart Allen, is the photographer from Texas! Which is cool, if a little odd, since they’re all from Kansas. He moved to San Antonio with his family a few years back and went native.

I lived there myself for a couple years, and it’ll do that to a person.

Viva los trasplantes! Long live the transplants!

Here is the photograph from the New York photographer, Naomi Harris (a Canadian), for the assignment, “People.”

i just had to check it out – what a great idea for a nation-wide, photo-journalistic essay, if you will. and the depiction of texas – right on (at least, from my six-month perspective…)! i contacted stuart via his website. when i get to san antonio, i’ll have to look him up!
and i will definitely show mr. murray new york’s photo – he may be jealous…
