Take 10 to high-5 HERA & help save lives

June 2, 2009

According to researchers at Johns Hopkins University, one in 57 women will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer this year. With early detection, more than 90 percent will survive. Currently, only 24 percent of ovarian cancer is caught early. (American Cancer Society)

HERA is an organization dedicated to raising funds for ovarian cancer research and to empowering women with information about this hard-to-detect disease. My grandmother and too many other women found out too late that they had ovarian cancer, and we lost them too soon.

The Climb for Life events HERA sponsors are fun, bonding experiences where good money is raised for the cause. I’ve done  two! But please consider donating now even $5 (or $50) to the memorial for Sean Patrick, HERA founder, who died in January from complications from ovarian cancer. One hundred percent of donations will go toward research and education campaigns. Go to http://www.herafoundation.org/ to learn more and contribute. Thank you.
