1″ of rain ~ 1.5 hours

Got soaked to the skin in the 2 blocks from the bus stop. When at last the sun came out, it was an inch of rain in the guage and beautiful mayhem in the garden.
So far the great wall of Slaterville is holding up fine.

Wow, those flowers and those pictures are amazing. Why can’t I grow anything? Ah, I live in the desert and I have a black thumb. The colors are so vivid I feel like I can almost touch them and smell the after the rain scent, which I love. It actually rained a bit in Vegas today, too, but nothing like in Slaterville. Sorry you got soaked — hope it was warm rain?

It was a fun storm, with a little more overnight. Everything is still prostrate in the mud. Maybe you’ll get some. Yes! It’s schubertii! Care of Andrea at Grow Where You’re Planted b4 she moved. I need to do a post on how my garden is thanks to passalong plants, bulbs, and now even shrubs–2 are waiting to go in the ground!
cool pics sis. It is nice getting soaked in a warm rain…beats the crap out of snow any day! we also had rain yesterday (and every day lately), .5″ in 20 min! cars were floating away in some parking lots. glad I live on a hill :)
Oh, you’ve got me pining for real rain. I went gaga over drizzle that made the pavement moist last weekend, but it’s bene a while without the real stuff…
That allium has to make it onto my plant list. I’m sure it’s spectacular even without the little raindrops hanging to its spunky spikes.
how refreshing it is to see those little raindrops clinging for dear life onto the umbels of mr. schubertii… or is it the other way around? how i miss that guy…! and what an edge the great wall of slaterville (love it) makes between your castle and the moat…quite striking, especially adjacent to the native(?) greens on the bank.

Thanks, Wayne. It’s still raining, but not as hard. I think the plants are just sprawling out into the wet wherever they can find it, which is everywhere. I’m not complaining! I see you just went to Buffalo–hoping to get up there for the Garden Walk end of July.
We stumbled upon the Garden Walk the last time we were in Buffalo. enjoy! It is supposed to rain the next four days, so I guess I should get into the garden for a bit.
