Happy Monday in the kitchen with the redbuds

We received a huge beautiful bouquet recently, spiked with Redbud branches. The toddler has enjoyed picking up the dropped buds and putting them in the trash (I love that about toddlers), but I’m loving the emerging leaves, giving our humble table a touch of early spring. Since actual spring is AWOL.
I wonder if these could root?

You mean your toddler didn’t try to eat the buds? Wow, I’m impressed.
With an eye to a lifetime spent around plants, I’m trying to teach him early not to eat just anything off the floor! And also not to eat just anything off the floor ;) Also, I really want to have cactus in the house again someday…

hey there, did you get any roots to form on the redbuds? i bet they would if you use a little rooting hormone. and… have you met the folks at gardeninacity? jason & judy were at the fling in SF. i SO MISSED YOU!!!! PDX2014 baby. mid-late July. time for a reunion i say!
I didn’t get roots but gardeninacity has been a nice commenter here. Yeah I have already posed the idea to my honey. There are many delightful people and things we could all do in PD. how can I get you up to CHI in the meantime?
